Do you use more than one planner? I use two. I am in my 12th year teaching elementary students. For my lesson plans and student information I use an A5 Filofax Saffiano. I design my inserts in Word and load them into my Microsoft 365 group to share with the special education teachers I work with each week. Now I am one that loves technology as much as the next person but I must have my paper lesson plans and paper grade book as our school has had days where our internet goes out or our newly updated computers crash, etc and paper has been our saving grace. I always back up my attendance, grades and lessons on paper to give myself peace of mind. I color code some things like homework, hands on science and technology so my principal has an easy time finding what she is looking for during lesson plan checks and I can easily see if I need to prep something extra.
I only drag the Saffiano home with me on weekends when I print my new lessons out and grade any papers that I did not get finished during the school week. Otherwise, it lives on my desk at school. I use a bright green planner so it is easy for anyone to find and will not get lost in the shuffle of homework, tardy slips and spelling tests.
For home, I have used a few different sizes in the past but I tend to stay with a personal size or A6 size. For the new year I plan to start with an A6 size but I’m sure I will move back and forth between the two sizes. I always buy the same style of purse by Vera Bradley that has a large zipper compartment and my planners always live in that compartment so they stay nice and I don’t have to dig past the planner for my wallet. I don’t baby my planners but since I know they are leather, I want to keep them as nice as possible for as long as possible since they can last quite a long time. So how many of you use more than one planner at a time? Do you use more than two? I’d love to know!
